JoAnna "JJ" Ferrari is a distinguished motivational speaker, change agent, transition, and performance coach who has faced significant challenges and transitions in her life, especially notable was her gender transition at the age of 53. This major life change marked a turning point, leading her to leverage her extensive experience and personal journey to inspire and educate others on the power of transitions, fear transformation, and personal and professional development.
Ferrari's work focuses on transforming fear into success, leveraging personal strengths, embracing change, and the art of communication. She emphasises how understanding and converting fear can lead to breakthroughs, the importance of choosing and being an ally for inclusive business cultures, and how discomfort and the unknown can catalyse growth and resilience.
Her experiences and insights offer profound lessons on personal transformation, building resilience, and growing through uncertainty.
With a rich background that includes a professional history marked by significant roles such as CEO for Anthony Robbins and leadership positions in multiple international businesses, Ferrari's life is a testament to resilience and adaptability. She has coached and presented for major corporations, sharing strategies drawn from her 30+ years as a business leader combined with her personal experiences of transition and overcoming adversity.
Ferrari's story is not just about her gender transition; it's about facing and overcoming life's obstacles, the power of self-reinvention, and the ability to inspire others to navigate their own transitions and challenges with courage and confidence.
I was absolutely captivated by JJ from the moment she walked on stage. She has such an authentic and genuine presence, and I could have listened to her talk for a million more hours. I really loved this session and I felt honoured to have been there to hear her share her story in an authentically vulnerable way, I left wanting to do the work so I could be a better human. Thank you so much for arrange the event.
I would love to thank JJ for her statement about "not being a woman". It was so brave, in a time where many are doing the opposite, stating men can have babies and periods etc. Why can't we all be celebrated for our differences, men, women, trans, furry, the labels go on and on... we are all so individual, perfect in our imperfection's. Why can't we look beyond our physical shell and see the perfect being? Thank you JJ for talking sense in a world that is upside down. And above all for sharing an inspiring journey to yourself xx
What a fantastic event! I think when allies ask, "how can I be a better ally?" I found it difficult to provide an answer that goes beyond educating oneself, showing up to events and wearing Pride colours. These of course are important acts of support but hearing JJ's actionable and empowering self-reflection exercise was a real light-bulb moment for me. I walked away feeling more empowered and equipped to help my friends and colleagues interested in becoming better allies. Powerful stuff. Thank you JJ
The talk JJ delivered for us was very well received within Microsoft. We had a number of people commenting that the subject JJ spoke on ‘Leading through Personal Transformation’ was really relevant, especially as Microsoft have had a few roles impacted recently as part of the headcount reduction corp announced earlier in the year. The GLEAM team who hosted the event also commented how lovely and engaging JJ was.
I really loved 'being a better human' was the key message on how to be a better Ally. This was a very different narrative to previous events I’ve been to and I loved the message that in order to see change in the world we must first change ourselves. I think this type of content could be helpful to everyone seeking to be a better ally.
A big thank you for your amazing presentation and presence at today’s Work180 event. I’ve struggled to communicate my thoughts on gender and contribute to discussions in a meaningful way. You caused light bulbs to go on!!!!! Your approach to the inner-voice and importance of phraseology was empowering. Thank you for reminding me of those things
Hi JJ, just a quick note to say your presentation was really inspiring, thank you!! It helped me put a few things in perspective. Your message helped me find the courage to go after what I truly felt was right for my work life capacity and to be true to who I am in every aspect. I can't wait to explore what that might be and I'm more excited now about the opportunities than ever before. The fact that you restarted and built up again helped me see it was possible.
